Spiritual Musing Sunday Meme

Monday, April 5, 2010

Years ago, I found joy in reading Bible verses and writing my reflections about a particular verse that struck me. I found happiness in doing it because I was able to get in touch with my inner self. And I found peace in the process.

Years passed by and a lot of things happened. Things that I have no control of. Things that somehow shook my faith and conviction. And things that one way or the other, messed up with my personal belief and perspective in life.

"I am a human being!" I use that phrase as an alibi to justify my weaknesses and my being irresponsible. I can use that phrase as an excuse to not take my faith seriously or totally forget all about it to some extent. And I can use that phrase so I can be an Atheist if I want to without feeling a grain of guilt in my heart.

Now, I have decided to go back to an old habit. I wanted to do again what used to give me joy and peace of mind. And I wanted to do it again not because of faith or for a religious reason but for my personal guidance. And I will call all my posts on Bible Verse Reflections... as SPIRITUAL MUSING SUNDAY. And it will carry this logo every time I post it.

But I have to be warned that, one way or another, I might lose my footing again and backslide. And if it does happen... I don't want to make promises but I will try my best to stand up again... regain my balance... and walk in my faith.

If you are inspired... you can JOIN my SPIRITUAL MUSING SUNDAY Meme. The rule is simple.

@Judy... I am glad that He was patient with me and did not give up on me during my weakest moment.

Hi! I'm following you on Google Friend Connect now. I'm new to GFC and would love to have you follow me, too.
Your post made me think of a song we used to sing a lot at church when I was growing up. I really like contemporary Christian songs, too, but there are some of the older songs that are still my favorites. "My Hope is Built on Nothing Less" is one of those old songs and the words have helped me through a hard year, as well as many scriptures.
